Elaine Mancini – Trustee

My name is Elaine Mancini and I am a candidate for a position on the board.

My husband, Alan Morrice, and I moved to Indiana from New York just after Hurricane Sandy in 2012 and being without heat for nine days.  We went looking for a UU church right away, as we had been very active at Community Unitarian Universalist Church in White Plains for many years and wanted to find a church home in Indiana. It took only about three weeks for us to join All Souls.

We immediately felt the strong sense of community here.  Indeed, in every survey taken at All Souls, the warm community is what people like about this church.

My life has been enhanced immeasurably through my connections to All Souls.

I have been involved in many aspects of the church, which I believe is excellent background to serve on the board.  For example, I team-taught youth group during a Coming of Age year.  I have contributed meals to the Interfaith Hospitality Network.  I chaired the Strategic Visioning Task Force in 2015.  I’ve been an usher. I had the pleasure of serving on the Interim Ministerial Search Committee that found Rev. Joel.  Importantly, I have previously served on the board here and I understand the commitment that is necessary.

I have served on other boards before and have non-profit management among my areas of expertise.   In Indiana, I served on the board of the Indianapolis Arts Chorale for several years and I served as Executive Director of the Museum of Miniature Houses for six years.  Currently, I write grants for Actors Theatre of Indiana and the Carmel International Arts Festival.  This work has given me deeper experience in strategic planning, budgeting, management, fundraising, and marketing.
